22nd Sitting of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee
At the sitting held on 21 January, the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee discussed, in principle, the Bill on Weapons and Ammunition, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Fire Protection, Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Hungary on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Case of Disaster, Bill on the Confirmation of the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Belarus in the Fight against Crime and the Bill on the Confirmation of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Institutional Framework of the Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Initiative for South Eastern Europe (2013).
The Bill amending and modifying the Law on Fire Protection was elaborated by Assistant Minister of Interior Predrag Maric as representative of the submitter. He said that the existing 2010 Law on Fire Protection lacked the legal grounds for the adoption of by-laws to define fire protection measures primarily in hospitality facilities, and the Bill ensures stricter control for this type of facility.
The Committee sitting was attended by the Head of the Serbian Ministry of Interior Administrative Directorate Zorica Loncar Kasalica.
Following a discussion, by a majority vote, the Committee decided to propose that the National Assembly accept the Bill on Weapons and Ammunition, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Fire Protection, Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Hungary on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Case of Disaster, Bill on the Confirmation of the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Belarus in the Fight against Crime and the Bill on the Confirmation of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Institutional Framework of the Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Initiative for South Eastern Europe (2013).
Committee Chairperson Marija Obradovic was appointed the Committee’s rapporteur to the National Assembly session.
