17th session of the Education Committee
On 8 April 2005, the Education Committee of the National Assembly of the Republicof Serbiaheld a session that saw the presentation of the Serbia Higher Education Reform Project.

The Future Project is aimed at acquainting professionals in education-related fields and university faculty members with possible means of integrating the education system of the
Transformation of the field is necessary to establish tighter links between the education process and the economy, and aims at producing highly qualified young professionals ready to apply their knowledge practically, meeting the needs of society and the economy, orienting education towards European trends and improving efficiency of university studies. The goal of the transformation is the formation of a new education system that would ensure as efficient an integration into the European system as possible, in accordance with the Bologna Declaration, and one that would also produce graduates capable of solving problems of economic and social development.
In addition to deputies, the session was also attended by members of the project team: the headmistress of the Blace Higher Business School, Dr Ruzica Stankovic, senior adviser at the Ministry of Education and Sports, Mirjana Vesovic, the headmistress of the Valjevo Higher Economics School, Dr Olivera Nikolic, the headmaster of the Belgrade Higher Polytechnic, Borivoje Rodic MA, the co-ordinator for international co-operation of the Blace Higher Business School, as well as the head of the Management Department of the Blace Higher Business School, Dr Igor Novakovic.
