175th Sitting of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues

At the sitting held on 11 February, the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues deliberated on the amendments submitted to a number of bills on the agenda for the Fourth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2016.


The Committee members found all five of the amendments the MPs had submitted to the Bill amending the Law on Prevention of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities, to be compliant with the Constitution and the legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

Having deliberated on the 88 amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Culture, the Committee found them to be compliant with the Constitution and the legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee also found all eight of the amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Obligatory Copy of Publications, compliant with the Constitution and the legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The 17 amendments submitted to the Bill on remedying the consequences of seizure of assets of Holocaust victims with no living legal heirs were also found to be compliant with the Constitution and the legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee members found all seven of the amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Misdemeanours, as well as the four amendments submitted to the Bill amending the Law on Organisation of Courts to be compliant with the Constitution and the legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The sitting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Dr Aleksandar Martinovic, and attended by Committee members Balint Pasztor, Jelisaveta Pribojac, Dragan Polovina, Petar Petrovic, Dragan Nikolic, Svetislav Vukmirica, Nedjo Jovanovic, Veroljub Arsic and Dragan Todorovic.
