At its 16th sitting, held on 10 April, the Industry Committee discussed and in principle endorsed the Bill Amending and Modifying the Mining Act, submitted to the National Assembly by the Government of the Republic of Serbia. The sitting saw the drafting of one amendment, and the endorsement of another one, out of the 28 submitted to the Bill. The Ministry of Mining and Energy was requested to provide an opinion on the manner of regulating fees for extracting mineral salts and waters after the adoption of the Bill, as it foresees the repeal of the current Exploitation Fees Act.

The Committee endorsed the 2005 Activity Report and the 2006 Financial Plan of the Energy Agency.

Committee members also discussed the Report on Nickel Ore Mining at the Lipovac Site, submitted by the Ministry of Mining and Energy. The Committee ruled to request additional information from the Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection.

The Committee ruled to request information on pollution in Pancevo from the Ministry of Mining and Energy.
