After a joint discussion of the Litigation Bill and the Administrative Proceedings Bill, members of the Justice and Administration Committee endorsed both proposals in principle.
Presenting the Bills, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Zoran Stojkovic, Minister of Justice, stated that they followed European Union standards in respecting the rights of parties engaged in litigation. The main aim of the Bills, according to Mr Stojkovic, is to accelerate litigation proceedings.
During the discussion, members of the Committee several times underlined that changes to process provisions do not increase the courts’ efficiency.
The Justice and Administration Committee also discussed all amendments submitted to the Bills.
