16th Sitting of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues

At the sitting held on 8 December 2022, the members of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues considered the Decree of the Republic Electoral Commission on the allocation of an MP’s term of office for the purpose of filling a vacant seat at the National Assembly.

The Committee noted that the termination of the term of office of MP Arpad Fremond, elected from the Electoral List Vajdásagi Magyar Szövetség - Pásztor István - Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians - István Pásztor, has left a vacant seat at the National Assembly, in accordance with Article 131 of the Law on Election of MPs.

Acting in accordance with the provision of Article 199 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure, the Committee reviewed the Decree of the Republic Electoral Commission and Certificate on the election of MP Ákos Újhelyi, elected from the Electoral List Vajdásagi Magyar Szövetség - Pásztor István - Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians - István Pásztor, and ascertained that the data on the election of the MP are identical to the ones in the Decree of the Republic Electoral Commission, i.e. that the newly-elected MP can be sworn in.

The Committee will propose that the National Assembly verify the newly-elected MP Ákos Újhelyi’s term of office immediately following the reception of the reports.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Milenko Jovanov, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dr Ugljesa Mrdic, Djordje Komlenski, Aleksandar Mirkovic, Dr Dragana Rakic, Ana Miljanic, Aleksandar Markovic, Dunja Simonovic Bratic, Veroljub Matic, Zivota Starcevic and Nikola Dragicevic.
