At its fifteenth session, held on 16 May, the Gender Equality Committee endorsed the Gender Equality Bill.

The chairperson of the Committee, Leila Ruzdic-Trifunovic, informed the deputies of her meeting with officials in charge of gender equality programmes and problems presented at those meetings. It was agreed that Committee members should initiate the passage of amendments and modifications of the Act on the Election of Deputies within their deputies’ groups, in order to regulate the representation of the under-represented gender in legislative bodies.

As the National Democratic Institute had initiated co-operation with the Committee, it was decided to organise a presentation of the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality of the European Parliament.
