15th EU-Serbia SAPC Meeting

The European Union-Serbia Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee (SAPC) held its 15th meeting on 20 and 21 June 2023 in the National Assembly House.

The meeting was opened by SAPC co-chairs Marinika Tepic, Head of the National Assembly delegation, and Alessandra Moretti, Head of the European Parliament delegation, while Tanja Miscevic, Minister of European Integration (via video link) Emanuele Giaufret, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Annika Ben David, Swedish Ambassador to Serbia on behalf of the Swedish Presidency of the EU Council, and European Integration Chairperson Elvira Kovacs (via video link) spoke about the state-of-play of the accession talks and the relations between the European Union and Serbia.

In the course of the two-day meeting the parliamentarians discussed Negotiation Cluster 1 with focus on freedom of the media, freedom of expression, violence in society including violence against women; strengthening and supervisory role of the parliament in the context of EU integration; Belgrade-Pristina dialogue; alignment with the Common Foreign and Security Policy and economic growth.

The next, 16th SAPC meeting, will be held on 13 and 14 December 2023 in Strasbourg.

After the 15th SAPC meeting, co-chairs Marinika Tepic and Alessandra Moretti addressed the media.
