13th Sitting of the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society

At the sitting held on 25 July, the members of the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society reviewed the initiative for the dismissal of Aleksandar Lipkovski from the post of member and President of the National Education Council, as well as the Decision Proposal for the election of new National Education Council President.


On the behalf of the submitters, Committee member Dr Vladimir Orlic said that the information and memos submitted by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and relevant trade union stating that the National Education Council has not been performing its duties in a timely manner, had made it clear that the conditions have been met to launch proceedings for the dismissal of Prof. Dr Aleksandar Lipkovski from the post of member and President of the National Education Council.

Following a debate in which the Committee members and MPs voiced a number of different opinions on the initiative, the Committee established the Proposal of the Decision on the dismissal of Prof. Dr Aleksandar Lipkovski from the post of member and President of the National Education Council and forwarded it to the National Assembly to be reviewed under urgent procedure.

At the sitting the Committee also established the Proposal of the Decision on the election of MA Milibor Stankovic for President of the National Education Council and forwarded it to the National Assembly to be reviewed under urgent procedure.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Muamer Zukorlic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Olena Papuga, Dubravko Bojic, Dr Vladimir Orlic, Bogdan Obradovic, MA Aleksandra Jerkov, Fatmir Hasani, Dr Ljubinko Rakonjac, Djordje Kosanic, Prof. Dr Marko Atlagic, Prof. Dr Zoran Dragisic and Marko Parezanovic.
