12th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 24 March 2021, the members of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government considered the Proposal of the Decision on the election of judges to judicial office for the first time and the Proposal of the Decision on the election of President of the Supreme Court of Cassation, submitted by the High Judicial Council.

A representative of the High Judicial Council presented the Decision Proposal for Ivana Jovicic, to be elected to judicial office for the first time at the Commercial in Zajecar, and the Decision Proposal for Jasmina Jovicic to be elected President of the Supreme Court of Cassation.

Following a discussion the Committee decided to propose that the National Assembly accept the decision proposals submitted by the High Judicial Council.

The Committee members went on to formulate the Proposal of the Decision on the termination of office of Public Prosecutor in the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Smederevo and forward it to the National Assembly for consideration and ruling.

The Committee proceeded to nominate Committee candidates for members of the Commission for the Control of the Execution of Criminal Sanctions. The Committee elected MPs Jelena Zaric Kovacevic, Dejan Kesar and Dubravka Kralj Commission members, as well as MP Danijela Vujacic, member of the Committee on Labour, Social Issues, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Deputy Chairperson Biljana Pantic Pilja and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dubravka Kralj, Toma Fila, Velibor Milojicic, Marijan Risticevic, Sanja Jefic Brankovic, Nenad Baros, Nebojsa Pavlovic and Jelena Zaric Kovacevic.
