12th Belgrade Dance Festival Conference

The National Assembly House hosted a conference on the 12th Belgrade Dance Festival.
The conference was opened by National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic who said it was her honour to announce the festival which has time and again proved most important for the region, Europe and the world.

“This April Belgrade will again be an influential place on the global cultural map, the capital of ballet, host to the most important ballet companies of our times. Audiences in Novi Sad, Belgrade, Vrsac and Pancevo will enjoy 15 performances and night after night revel in the artists’ ballet skills”, said Speaker Gojkovic.
The Speaker ended her address with the words of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky who, writing the last notes to “Swan Lake” said: “Without music and ballet the world would have ceased to exist long ago”.
Head of the European Union Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport said that the EU Delegation is proud to be sponsoring the Belgrade Dance Festival for the third year in a row. Davenport stressed that the festival helps bring the European nations and cultures tighter together and does not only bring the world to Serbia, but also sends a beautiful image of Serbia into the world.
Minister of Culture and Media Ivan Tasovac said that the Ministry is extremely pleased to be the patron of Belgrade Dance Festival because it is proof that having no fear of great visions and high standards always results in success.
