At its sitting held on 4 July 2006, the Legislative Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in principle endorsed the Bill Amending and Modifying the Personal Income Tax Bill. A total of 38 amendments had been submitted to the Bill, and all of these were assessed as legally possible.

The deputies had submitted 15 amendments to the Bill Amending and Modifying the Act on Contributions for Compulsory Social Insurance. The Legislative Committee recommended that the Assembly should reject three amendments, while the remaining 13 were assessed as legally possible.

The sitting also discussed, in principle, the Bill Amending and Modifying the Act on Textbooks and Other Teaching Aids and the Bill Amending and Modifying the Broadcasting Act. No amendments had been submitted to these bills.

The Legislative Committee ruled that the 22 amendments submitted to the Civil Servants’ Salaries Bill were legally possible, and asked the Assembly to reject the remaining seven amendments. The Committee also revised the text of the Civil Servants’ Salaries Bill.

A total of 19 amendments had been submitted to the Identity Card Bill; all were assessed as legally possible.

Deputies had submitted 42 amendments to the Agricultural Land Bill. Deputy Mika Vlaovic withdrew two amendments; the remaining 40 were assessed as legally possible.

The Legislative Committee noted that one amendment to the Organic Products and Production Bill had not been submitted in a timely fashion; the remaining five amendments submitted to the Bill were assessed as legally possible.

A total of 47 amendments had been submitted to the Local Authorities Funding Bill. The Committee proposed that the Assembly should reject 12 amendments, while the remainder were assessed as legally possible.

All 47 amendments submitted to the Free Trade Zones Bill were assessed as legally possible. Another 20 amendments had been submitted to the Foreign Currency Transactions Bill – these too were assessed as legally possible, while the Committee went on to revise the bill’s text.

The Committee proposed that the National Assembly should reject two amendments submitted to the Bill Amending the Payment Operations Act, and ruled that the ten amendments submitted to the Bill Amending the Road Transport Bill were legally possible.

The sitting also discussed the Bill Ratifying the Treaty Establishing the Energy Community between the European Union and Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, and the United Nations Interim Mission in Kosovo as Kosovo representative under UN Security resolution 1244 in both principle and particular. The Committee proposed that the Assembly should reject all four amendments submitted to the bill.

The Committee also discussed the Bill on Providing Guarantees of the Republic of Serbia to German Financial Organisation KfW for a Loan Granted to the Serbian National Power Generation Company for Rehabilitation of the Bajina Basta Hydroelectric Power Plant, and recommended that the Assembly should reject the single amendment submitted to the bill.

The sitting unanimously adopted the Bill Repealing the Act Establishing the Bratstvo Publishing House.
