10th Sitting of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee

At the sitting held on 25 May 2021, the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee considered the Bill amending and modifying the Identity Card Law, submitted by the Government, in principle.

The Bill was presented by Zoran Lazic, State Secretary at the Ministry of the Interior, who spoke about the changes in the manner of reporting the loss of ID card. The Bill simplifies the administrative procedure for the citizens of the Republic of Serbia, so that in case of loss of ID card, the citizen will not have to advertise it in the "Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia", rather the relevant authority – police station, should, after the ID card is declared invalid, publish it on the official website of the Ministry of Interior. The other changes to the Bill are of a technical nature, said the Secretary.

Following the presentation, the Committee accepted the Bill in principle.

As item 2 on the agenda, the Committee members adopted the proposal how to handle the civic petitions received.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Aleksandar Markovic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dijana Radovic, Ugljesa Mrdic, Jelena Mijatovic, Milovan Drecun, Prof. Dr Zoran Dragisic, Justina Pupin Koscal, Ivan Ribac, Srbislav Filipovic, Dragan M. Markovic and Dr Boban Birmancevic.
