The Bill was presented to the Committee members by acting assistant minister of finance Zlatko Milikic, who said that the Bill aims to regulate the procedure for the takeover of joint stock companies in the Republic of Serbia, as well as the rights and obligations of the participants of the takeover process and supervision of the joint stock company takeover process. The Bill would regulate and strengthen the underdeveloped market, investors’ trust and prevent misuse of market capital and machinations. The Bill also completed the terminological adjustment to the Company Law.

Following a debate the Committee members adopted the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Takeover of Joint Stock Companies, submitted by the Government, in principle, and appointed the Committee Chairperson its rapporteur at the National Assembly sitting.
