10th Sitting of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee
At the sitting held on 4 September, the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee considered and unanimously accepted the Bill on the Confirmation of the Veterinary Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, submitted by the Government.
The Committee members considered and gave a positive opinion to the Proposal of the Decision on the establishment of a National Council for Climate Change, deciding to appoint the Committee’s representative in the Council at a subsequent date. The Decision Proposal was elaborated by Danijela Bozanic of the Ministry of Energy and Mining Climate Change Department.
At the sitting, the Committee also discussed the current situation in agriculture following the Russian Federation’s sanctions and adopted conclusions. The Committee members were briefed on the topic by Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Nenad Katanic and Head of the Veterinary Inspection Department Sanja Celebicanin.
The Committee members also discussed the current situation in the sphere of veterinary medicine accompanied by solution proposals. They discussed the topic with the Director of the Veterinary Directorate Dr Dejan Bugarski, Representative of the Bujanovac Veterinary Station Miodrag Milkovic and the Head of the Veterinary Directorate’s Department for the healthcare, wellbeing and monitoring of animals Budimir Plavsic. Following the discussion the Committee adopted conclusions.
The Committee went on to discuss the support of the realisation of investment projects in the sphere of agriculture in the Republic of Serbia and adopted conclusions.
At the sitting, the Committee members also considered and adopted the initiative relating to the invitation extended to a delegation of the Russian Duma Agriculture Committee to come visit the National Assembly as regards agricultural cooperation and forwarded it to the Foreign Affairs Committee for further consideration.
At the sitting, the Committee members also discussed the potentials to amend and modify certain laws, directives and rulebooks regulating the field of animal welfare and gathering of forest fruit.
The Committee members also adopted a conclusion on the Compensation Fund.
The Committee also adopted the Decision on the establishment of a Working Group to follow the agricultural situation in marginal – underdeveloped areas of Serbia.
