Slovenian Ambassador Delivers Official Note to Borko Stefanovic for Foreign Affairs Committee to Visit Slovenia

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Borko Stefanovic received Slovenian Ambassador H.E. Damjan Bergant in the National Assembly today, who delivered an official note for the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committee, headed by Stefanovic, to visit Slovenia.

The Ambassador said that, although the exchange of visits between Slovenian and Serbian dignitaries is not a rare occurrence, meetings between the two parliaments’ working bodies were last held in 2016. He said that a visit of this kind would be ideal for a meeting with the Head of the Slovenian Assembly’s Parliamentary Friendship Group with Serbia and other Slovenian parliamentarians.

Stefanovic agreed that such a visit would be extremely important for the bilateral relations between the two countries, adding that he would talk with the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee to determine the composition of the delegation for the visit and meeting dates that would suit both sides.

The meeting also touched on Serbia and Slovenia’s mutual support at international forums and Stefanovic's Motion for a Resolution proposing the alignment of Serbia’s foreign policy with the foreign policy of the European Union at the sitting of the relevant committee.
