Snezana Klasnja, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sport, elaborated the Decision Proposal saying that the Agreement on the Establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office builds on the objectives defined within the Berlin Process and is based on the Joint Declaration on the Establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office of the Western Balkans signed on 27 August 2015 at the Western Balkans Summit in Vienna.

She said that the Committee needs to grant consent to the temporary application of the Agreement before it enters Assembly procedure because the signing of the Agreement is planned for 4 July 2016 in Paris at the next Western Balkan Summit. Its application will allow for the establishment of the bodies of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office as per its Statute – Executive Board, Secretariat, Advisory Board and working groups. She also added that the signatories of the document, besides Serbia, are Albania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.

Following a discussion the Committee members accepted the Proposal of the Decision to grant consent to the Government of the Republic of Serbia to authorise the delegation of the Republic of Serbia to accept the provisional implementation of the Agreement on the Establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office pending its coming into force, by majority vote.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Muamer Zukorlic, attended by Committee members and deputy members Dubravko Bojic, Fatmir Hasani, Marko Parezanovic, Prof. Dr Marko Atlagic, Milena Bicanin, Miletic Mihajlovic, Dr Vladimir Orlic, Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic, Djordje Kosanic, Zeljko Susec, Ratko Jankov, Prof. Dr Ljubisa Stojmirovic and MA Aleksandra Jerkov.
