National Assembly Deputy Speaker Sandra Bozic Meets with Republic of Srpska National Assembly Deputy Speaker

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Sandra Bozic met today at the National Assembly House with the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Milan Petkovic.

At the beginning of the meeting, Bozic stressed that the relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska are at an extremely high level, that cooperation is constantly on the rise and added that the leadership of the Republic of Serbia will always support the Republic of Srpska in all areas, through various investment projects and donations.

The officials spoke about the observance of important historical dates, including the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and National Flag on 15 September, in commemoration of the Thessaloniki Front breakthrough in 1918.

The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Milan Petkovic agreed with Deputy Speaker Bozic that relations between Serbia and the Republic of Srpska have significantly improved in recent years, primarily thanks to the policy pursued by President Aleksandar Vucic.

Bozic and Petkovic jointly highlighted the importance of establishing cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the context of improving overall regional cooperation.

In the course of the meeting, Milan Petkovic spoke of the problem faced by the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska regarding the decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to declare the previously adopted Law on Immovable Property unconstitutional. He stressed that this is not the first time the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska is faced with this kind of problem, bearing in mind that this has happened before when the Law on Agricultural Land, Law on Forests and the Water Law were declared unconstitutional.
