National Assembly Delegation Headed by Deputy Speaker Jovan Janjic Takes Part in Spiritual Unity of Peoples International Fund 31st International Conference

The 31st International Conference of the International Fund for the Spiritual Unity of Peoples with the theme "The End of Globalism and the Future of the World - the Meaning and Value of the Coming Epoch" was opened in the capital of the Republic of Tunisia, on 3 December 2025.

Over the course of two days, the conference brought together representatives from 23 countries.

The President of the Fund, Valery Alexeyev, emphasised the importance of holding the forum in Africa and thanked the participants for their presence. The conference continued with the reading of letters of greeting from leaders of state, religious and social organisations, while the gathering was also greeted by Metropolitan Constantine of Cairo and North Africa, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa of the Russian Orthodox Church.

In his speech at the opening of the conference, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Jovan Janjic outlined the methods and consequences of the spread of globalism in the case of Serbia, and in relation to its people and the Serbian Orthodox Church. He pointed out that it is the Orthodox Church that represents the main buffer and barrier to those who impose global culture for the sake of their own interests. "If we renounce those values in the national culture that we grew up in and that have defined our identity, and these are the traditional values on which this world rests, we renounce ourselves and become what someone else wants us to be, in their service," Janjic said. He particularly emphasised the importance of protecting Serbian Orthodox holy sites in Kosovo-Metohija, stressing that the medieval Serbian monasteries in this area are part of world cultural heritage, and today they are the most endangered cultural sites in Europe. He noted: "We are only as strong as we are spiritually strong."

On the second day of the conference, MP Ana Ivanovic also addressed the audience and emphasised that globalisation is not only economic but also identity-based and is reflected in the imposition of a cultural model that is contrary to our tradition and our national being. "I am convinced that the coming multipolar world will bring back to the historical stage the true nature of man and the leading role of the family. I am convinced that such a world brings more justice and prospects for weaker states. I am also convinced that the process of creating a multipolar world will not be easy, but, as early Christians teach us, without the willingness to make one's own sacrifice, there can be no betterment for our children."
