Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality Committee Delegation in Study Visit to Strasbourg

A delegation of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality is paying a visit to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg on 25 and 26 September 2017.


The objective of the study visit is to learn more about the activities of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and its working bodies in charge of human rights, equality and combating discrimination. The Committee members also met with the representatives of the Commissioner for Human Rights, Venice Commission and the European Court of Human Rights to exchange opinions and experiences relating to parliamentary control over the implementation of the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights. They also discussed specific questions related to securing the human rights guaranteed by the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the European Social Charter.

The delegation comprised Committee Chairman Meho Omerovic and Committee members Maja Videnovic, Ljibuska Lakatos and Olivera Ignjanovic.

The visit was realized with the support of the OSCE Mission in Serbia.
