Head of National Assembly Standing Delegation to NATO PA at Meeting of NATO Partnerships Subcommittee and Mediterranean and Middle East Special Group
The Head of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia standing delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Dragan Sormaz will be taking part in the joint meeting of the NATO PA Subcommittee on NATO Partnerships and the Mediterranean and Middle East Special Group, co-organised with the Parliament of the Republic of Italy, 27-29 October 2016, in Rome.
Former KFOR commander Major General Guglielmo Miglietta will be speaking at the session dedicated to the Western Balkans as the strategic connection between the Middle East, North Africa and Europe in the context of migrant flow management and the political impact of the migrant crisis in Europe, i.e. common security challenges of the Mediterranean and the Balkans. The participants of the meeting will also be discussing the political impact of the migrant crisis, state-of-play in the fight against Daesh in Syria and Iraq, political and security situation in Libya, cooperation of intelligence agencies in the fight against terrorism and radicalisation in Europe, and other topics.
The participants will also attend the demonstration of Italian special forces counter-terrorist interventions within exercise “Storm 16”.
