Head and Member of National Assembly Delegation to Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy Meet with President of International Fund of Peoples’ Spiritual Unity

The Head of the National Assembly delegation to the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy Sanja Lakic and delegation member Aleksandar Cotric met today at the National Assembly with the President of the International Fund of Peoples’ Spiritual Unity Valery Alexeev.

Sanja Lakic thanked Russia for standing with Serbia in the fight to preserve Kosovo-Metohija, stressing that this has additionally strengthened the centuries-old friendship between the two countries.

She informed the guest about the activities of the National Assembly delegation to the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy, saying that a year and a half ago the international parliamentary organisation’s annual session was held in the National Assembly at her initiative, attended by more than 15 delegations.

Valery Alexeev said that the International Fund of Peoples’ Spiritual Unity works on strengthening the much needed unity of the Orthodox world.

The meeting focused on the Fund’s upcoming activities and the possibility of involving and engaging Serbian parliamentarians in them.

Since the Fund had organised visits of children from Kosovo-Metohija to Russia, Lakic and Alexeev considered the possibility of organising such visits for Serbian children from Croatia and the Krajina settlement of Busije, as well as the possibility of young Russians coming to Serbia.
