On the occasion Gojkovic said that the parliamentary conference is a good indicator of the National Assembly’s commitment to the European integration process in view of it importance for Serbia, the Western Balkan region and Europe as a whole.

Gojkovic said that the Parliament is investing enormous efforts into achieving full EU membership through the harmonization of the law with EU legislation and is dedicated to the development of dialogue and cooperation with parliaments in the region.

Krichbaum stressed that it is significant that Serbia is decisive in its intention to join the EU and Germany recognises and fully support the efforts it is investing in the matter. Krichbaum also said that regional cooperation is extremely important, which is why the Berlin Process was launched in the first place.

Gojkovic and Krichbaum also spoke about the European Commission’s progress report on Serbia and the National Assembly’s activities in mentioned in it.
