Fifth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2010

At the request of 119 deputies, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, convened the Fifth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2010, for Tuesday, 27 July 2010. The extraordinary session started at 11 a.



At the request of 119 deputies, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, convened the Fifth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2010, for Tuesday, 27 July 2010. The extraordinary session started at 11 a.m.

The request to hold the extraordinary session specified the following agenda:

1. The Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Judges for a three-year term of office at courts of general and special jurisdiction, submitted by the High Judicial Council,

2. The Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Chairman of the Governor’s Council of the National Bank of Serbia, submitted by the Finance Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia,

3. The Proposal of the Decision on the Appointment of Deputy Secretary General of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by the Secretary General of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.

The National Assembly subsequently included the Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Deputy Public Prosecutor, submitted by the State Prosecutors Council, under urgent procedure as item 4 and decided to complete a joint unified debate on this and item 1 on the agenda.

At the beginning of the proceedings, the heads i.e. authorised representatives of the Deputy Groups Slobodan Samardzic, Dragan Sormaz, Zoran Ostojic and Dragan Stevanovic requested information and explanations in line with article 235. of the Rules of Procedure.

Before recess, the National Assembly completed the joint unified debate on the Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Judges for a three-year term of office at courts of general and special jurisdiction and the Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Deputy Public Prosecutor.

For the remainder of the day the National Assembly conducted a debate on the Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Chairman of the Governor’s Council of the National Bank of Serbia.

On the second day of work, 28 July, the National Assembly completed a debate on the Proposal of the Decision on the Appointment of Deputy Secretary General of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.

Since the National Assembly had completed the discussion on all the items on the agenda, National Assembly Speaker Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic set Wednesday, 28 July 2010, as Voting Day on the items on the agenda for the Fifth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2010.

Voting Day

On Voting Day, 28 July, the National Assembly adopted: the Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Judges for a three-year term of office at courts of general and special jurisdiction, Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Chairman of the Governor’s Council of the National Bank of Serbia, Proposal of the Decision on the Appointment of Deputy Secretary General of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Deputy Public Prosecutor.

As the National Assembly had completed the discussion on all the items on the agenda and ruled on them, the National Assembly Speaker Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic concluded the Fifth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2010.
