Fifth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009 Convened

At the request of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, convened the Fifth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009, for Monday, 23 February 2009, starting at 1 p. m. As specified in the Request to hold the session, the agenda will contain the bills on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction; Protection against Ionizing Radiation and Nuclear Safety; Waste Management; Protection against Non-Ionizing Radiation; amending and modifying the Law on Environmental Protection; Chemicals; Biocides; Air Protection; Packaging and Packaging Waste; amending and modifying the Environmental Impact Assessment Law; Nature Protection and Protection and Sustainable Use of the Fish Fund.

As specified in the Request to hold the session, the agenda will contain the bills on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction; Protection against Ionizing Radiation and Nuclear Safety; Waste Management; Protection against Non-Ionizing Radiation; amending and modifying the Law on Environmental Protection; Chemicals; Biocides; Air Protection; Packaging and Packaging Waste; amending and modifying the Environmental Impact Assessment Law; Nature Protection and Protection and Sustainable Use of the Fish Fund.

At the session, the National Assembly will also discuss: the Bill on the Confirmation of the Rotterdam Convention on the Prior Informed Consent Procedure for Certain Hazardous Chemicals and Pesticides in International Trade with amendments and modifications; the Bill on the Confirmation of the Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-Making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters and the Bill on the Confirmation of the Amendments to Annex B of the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The session will be held in the Building of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, in Belgrade, 14 Kralja Milana Street.
