Diaspora and Serbs in the Region Committee Chairman and Deputy Chairman Talk to President of Serbian National Council of Montenegro
The Chairman of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region Dr Janko Veselinovic and Committee Deputy Chairman Miodrag Linta met, at the National Assembly, with the President of the Serbian National Council of Montenegro Dr Momcilo Vuksanovic to discuss the status and position of Serbs in Montenegro.
The meeting was attended by Nikola Minic, member of the Serbian National Council of Montenegro, and Djordje Aleksic, representative of the Foreign Ministry’s Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region.
The officials talked about the representation of Serbs in state institutions and local self-government institutions, position of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the role the mother state and the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region play in improving the position of Serbs in the region.
Committee Chairman Dr Janko Veselinovic stressed the importance of the abovementioned topic, adding that the Committee would be initiating a meeting with the representatives of Serbs in Montenegro and deliberating on the position of Serbs in Montenegro in one of its upcoming sittings.
