Diaspora and Serbs in the Region Committee Chairman Meets with Representatives of Serbia-Russia Friendship and Orthodox Christian Nations Unity Association from Doboj

The Chairman of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region Miodrag Linta and Committee members Aleksandar Markovic, Aleksandar Cotric and Ivan Bauer met today at the National Assembly House with representatives of the Association of Serbia-Russia Friendship and Unity of Orthodox Christian Nations. The guests thanked their hosts for meeting with them at the National Assembly House and for the opportunity to brief them on the Association’s activities and plans to keep the memory of the war to defend the fatherland, support the Serbia nation and the survival of the Republic of Srpska in cooperation with the Russian Federation and the Republic of Serbia.


The representatives of the Association informed the Committee members about the construction of the Spiritual Russian All-Orthodox Centre containing the St. Matrona of Moscow monastery complex in the village of Ritesic near Doboj, started in 2009, which had been taken over by the Eparchy of Zvornik and Tuzla, then the first Russian Orthodox village which is to contain orthodox-style houses, already has a bust of Tsar Nikolai II Romano, and is to and have a bust of Vladimir Putin, with the consent and assistance of the Russian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, private funds and donations from socio-political organizations and businessmen, and their promotion of the idea of Serbian-Russian friendship, Orthodox Christianity, spiritual, cultural and other types of cooperation with the brotherly Russian people. To achieve this, the Association cooperates with similar organizations in the Republic of Srpska, Republic of Serbia and Montenegro.

Committee Chairman Miodrag Linta thanked the Association representatives for the in-depth presentation, adding that the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region does not have the financial means to assist in the construction of the monastery complex and volunteered to inform the highest state institutions in the Republic of Serbia, within the Committee’s scope, about these noteworthy activities.

The meeting was attended by the President of the Association of Serbia-Russia Friendship and Unity of Orthodox Christian Nations from Doboj Zoran Gajic and Association member Dusan Bokan, as well as Mile Sapic, Branko Grcic and Zeljko Djekic, journalist of Srpsko Kolo, and Aleksandar Markovic, Aleksandar Cotric and Ivan Bauer, members of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region.
