66th Sitting of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending

At the sitting held on 28 February, the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending had a joint sitting with the Finance and Budget Committee and Audit Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, in Banja Luka.

The sitting focused on the two parliaments’ supervision of the work of independent state bodies and organisations and the initiative to sign a protocol of cooperation between the state auditing institutions and committees.

The members of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending and the finance and budget and audit committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska unanimously endorsed the initiative to intensify the cooperation between the state auditing institutions and competent assembly committees with the aim of improving their control of public spending.

The President of the State Audit Institution and Chief Auditor Dr Dusko Pejovic and the Chief Auditor of the Public Sector Audit Service of the Republic of Srpska Jovo Radukic agreed to draft a protocol of cooperation to be signed at one of the coming joint sittings of the assembly committees and representatives of the state auditing institutions.

The joint sitting, held in line with the Protocol of Cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, was chaired by the Chairperson of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending Dr Aleksandra Tomic and the Vice President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska and Chairperson of the Finance and Budget Committee Zeljka Stojicic, and attended by: the Chairman of the Audit Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Tomica Stojanovic, the members of the two committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, and the following Committee members and deputy members: National Assembly Deputy Speaker Veroljub Arsic, Zoran Bojanic, Goran Kovacevic, Sonja Vlahovic, Srbislav Filipovic, Momo Colakovic, Milan Lapcevic, Tanja Damnjanovic Tomasevic and Zoran Despotovic.
