The Committee members also discussed and accepted the Bill on the Confirmation of the International Combined Transport Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Slovak Republic, Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Hungary on Road Transport of Passengers and Goods, as well as the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia on Road Transport of Passengers and Goods.

The Bill amending and modifying the Railway Law and the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Railway Safety and Interoperability were elaborated by Mirjana Trifunovic on the behalf of the Ministry. Trifunovic said that one of the chief reasons why the Bill amending and modifying the Railway Law should be passed is the need to harmonise the railway transport regulations with the relevant EU regulations, adding that in the period the Railway Law has been implemented, certain flaws became apparent which required harmonisation with the new EU directive packages, and the scope of the Directorate for Railways also needed to be expanded.

Speaking of the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Railway Safety and Interoperability, the Assistant Minister said that it should be passed in order to ensure the development and improvement of railway safety and access to the railway services market. Trifunovic also said that the rising trend of thefts in the railway called for stricter penalties for the physical entities jeopardizing railway safety through theft.

On the behalf of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, the sitting was attended by Assistant Minister Sasa Stojanovic and associates.
